Awkwafina is an American singer and actress began with funny raps, which dealt with sexual identities, racial identity and gender. Before expanding into Hollywood her music, she came out with a series of rap tracks. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came with the trumpet. She also received classical and jazz training later becoming a hip-hop teenager. In college she studied writing and women's studies. Then, she even had a short time studying Mandarin at the University of Beijing. Following graduation, she decided to concentrate on music.
