He is also the creator of Methods of Mayhem, a rap metal band. He also has pursued solo musical projects. Lee is a proponent of animal rights as well as PETA. Lee has written Terry Prather, SeaWorld's president to protest Tilikum's treatment. Lee believed that the animal should be released and said that SeaWorld would not allow it to happen since Tilikum is their principal sperm donor. Lee stated that he was appalled by SeaWorld's sick and twisted methods for obtaining Tilikum sperm. Lee said he wanted to prevent further tragedies of trainers getting killed, because these tragedies had resulted from the whales' dislike of the confinement.
