AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is an attacking player. She is also captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division of professional soccer for women. From 2018 until 2020, she served as co-captain for the US women's national soccer team with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Morgan was chosen as the top pick in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she graduated early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut at the club , and also helped the team win the league championship. Morgan was 22 at the time and the youngest player on the national team for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In the 123rd minutes of the semifinal game against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. Her 2012 ended with 21 goals and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. It made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. She was subsequently awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan played a key role in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. Morgan was selected to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
